Byggekontrakt
undertegnet 29/01 av Hvalfangerselskapet Kosmos A/S, Hvalfangerselskapet
Kosmos II A/S (Anders Jahre A/S), Sandefjord for levering november 1941.
Levert i juni
som HOLSTEIN til Die
Kriegsmarine (Erste Deutsche Walfang G.m.b.H.), Hamburg, Tyskland.
1943
Benyttet til moderskip for ubåter. Torpedert 16/05 utenfor Mandal.
Deretter brukt som flytende lager.
1945 Gjenfunnet i Lübeck i sterkt skadet tilstand. Frigitt av
Ministry of War Transport (MoWT) 24/08.
mek. Værksted, Sandefjord for reparasjon. Ankom Sandefjord 30/09.
Rederiet betalte NOK 2.913.000 for fartøyet. Hoved- og hjelpemaskineri
ble sendt til Danmark for reparasjon.
I selskapets sirkulære av 20/10-1946 kan man lese:
«M/T
JASMIN.
selskapene i november 1941. Den tyske krigsmarine beslagla imidlertid
skipet.
1947
Dokksattes 15/01 til 15/03. I dokk igjen 02/08 til 23/08. Ferdig
reparert 26/10 og gikk fra Sandefjord samme dag.
1948 Var transportbåt for fangstflåten i Sydishavet. Innleid av
De Norske Hvalfangerselskapers Forbund. Fikk en treårs avtale med Anglo
Saxon Petroleum Company Ltd, London, England. Deretter i løsfart.
Saxon (i 1955 overtatt av The Shell Petroleum Company Ltd).
1956 Innleid som transportbåt i Sydishavet for kokeriene
KOSMOS III og KOSMOS IV for sesongen 1956/57.

Completed and reinforced
ready for war service. Delivered to the German Navy 03/09 and renamed

The JA beginning in the ship name is now beginning to become
common in the fleet of the shipping companies.

16/05, major damage. Not in use after this the rest of the war.
1945 Recovered in Lübeck in severely damaged condition. Released

In the company's circular of 20/10-1946 it’s written:
«M/T JASMIN. This ship, a 15 350-tonne tanker, was supposed to
have been delivered to the Kosmos companies in November 1941. However,
the German Navy seized the ship. At the end of the war, found in Lübeck
in a very detrimental condition. It was released on August 24, 1945, but
despite the release, the British military authorities in Lübeck seized
the ship and used it as storage tanker. After some negotiations, we were
able to release the ship on March 9 this year. The ship was towed to
Copenhagen, where we had hoped to have it repaired. When the repair of
the hull could not be started there until January 1947, the ship was
taken home to Framnæs mek. Værksted, Sandefjord, where the repair is now
in full swing. Both main and auxiliary machinery are under repair in
Denmark. The ship will probably be delivered in repaired
condition once in the spring of 1947 ».
